I am an ecological horticulturist, planting designer, author, and plantsman focused on the relationship between people, plants, and place. My work combines ecological planting design, horticulture, landscape art, education, and public engagement. I create site-specific planting strategies for residential, commercial, and public landscapes, with an emphasis on plant communities, regional character, biodiversity, and ecological performance. I also share my knowledge through writing, teaching, speaking, and the New Naturalism Academy, helping designers and gardeners apply ecological principles to real-world landscapes.
