Gardening Presenter | Writer | Plantswoman

I originally trained as a fine artist and spent many years teaching art in schools and colleges. I later started gardening and running a nursery from my home in Devon, which eventually became my career. I began exhibiting at RHS shows in 1990 and went on to win Gold Medals at Chelsea, Hampton Court, Westminster and Malvern. I first appeared on Gardeners' World in 1998 and later worked as a guest presenter for the BBC and Channel 4. I wrote and presented Wild About the Garden and Real Gardens, followed by programmes including Life in a Cottage Garden, The Great British Garden Revival, Plant Odysseys, Summer Gardening with Carol Klein, Autumn Gardening with Carol Klein, Spring Gardening with Carol Klein and Great British Gardens. I have continued working with Gardeners' World and its flower shows and have also written books, including my latest book, Hortobiography.
